RUNNING in My World

Chester

RuuUUuNNN!!!

I'm not a huge fan of exercise, as you may have surmised (see "sleep"), but at least twice a day I need to take my constitutional -- several mad dashes around the house. There are two times of day when the sprinting spirit strikes: just after using the litter box, and just before my people get in bed for their daily eight hours of totally boring immobility. (Who will ever understand people?)

The Post-Stink Sprint

As the name implies, this is the run I like to do immediately after I unburden my bowels and smell up the entire building. I just feel so light and free and frisky at these times!

The Pre-Bedtime Bolt

Each night, around the same time (much too early, that is), my people stretch out on the bed and just lay there until dawn. Now, like any self-respecting cat, I have a high regard for sleep itself. But these people really don't understand the art of sleeping. Why must they do all their sleeping in one long stretch like that? It's absolutely maddening to begin with, and to make it worse, they insist that I sit there the whole time. Ugh! To alleviate the inevitable frustration, I run around as much as possible when I see that "that time" is near. I'm always scooped up to "settle in" for the night a little before I'm ready, but oh well. The sacrifices we make...
